Jeff Maconaghy – President

Professional Experience: Jeff joined Encompass in April 2012 as President.  As President, Jeff is tasked with co-creating the culture and strategic goals for Encompass. He works directly with an experienced team of executives that implement the company’s short and long term strategic goals.

Jeff has been in the Risk Management and Insurance Industry since 1993 and is a proud alumnus of Temple University’s excellent Risk Management and Insurance program.  During his industry tenure, Jeff worked for Alexander & Alexander’s prestigious transportation group in Baltimore, MD where he was an Account Executive to many of the nation’s largest trucking and rail companies.  In the mid-1990’s Jeff would become a Vice-President and producer for ECBM, a transportation-minded regional insurance firm.  For the past 10 years Jeff was a minority partner and producer for KCI, a regional risk management firm with a niche in the transportation industry.  As a Producer, Jeff has built a client book of business surpassing $24,000,000 in premium.

Personal: Jeff is also a tenured NCAA Division I Football Official that has participated in 7 bowl assignments featuring some of the nation’s top teams including the Chick-fil-a Bowl; Outback Bowl; R&L Carriers Bowl; Ticket City Bowl and others.  While on the field Jeff wears the letter “R” on his shirt signifying that he is the Referee and you can often see or hear him on television on Saturday’s in the Fall.

Kevin Rettberg – Chief Operating Officer

Professional Experience: Kevin Started with Encompass in July 2012 as Vice President, and was promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer on April 1, 2013. Along with managing the company’s operations, he is a member of the Executive Team tasked with developing the company’s strategic and organizational growth. Kevin is the administrator for two group insurance programs, the PETRO Trust, and the Elite Transportation Risk Retention Group. His insurance career began in 1996 as a Loss Control Specialist for Enterprise Rent-A-Car. He would then work as an Account executive for Liberty Mutual in 2000, became an insurance broker with Engle-Hambright & Davies in 2002, and held the position of Risk Manager for Hersha Hospitality in 2008. His vast experience in claims handling, loss control, insurance program management & procurement, and brokerage provide Encompass clients with a resource not commonly obtained in the industry. Kevin holds the designation of CWCU (Certified Workers’ Compensation Underwriter).

Personal: As an endurance fitness enthusiast, Kevin has completed adventure challenge races, marathons (NYC & Houston- 2004), Ironman races (Arizona-2009, Florida-2011), and dozens of Half-Ironman, Olympic, and Sprint distance triathlon events. Over the last 7 years Kevin has focused on the sport of triathlon, with the express desire to give back to others. In November 2012, Kevin became a USAT Certified Triathlon Coach, with the hope of helping new aspiring triathletes begin their love affair with this amazing sport. Kevin is married, has two children, and two English Bulldogs and Pug who he often refers to as “his boys.”

Chris Wahl – Vice President

Professional Experience: Chris joined Encompass in August 2012 as Vice President, leading the Independent Contractor Division. Chris is recognized as an expert in the areas of Owner Operator/ Independent Contractor insurance coverages and devising other strategies to address the risk management challenges faced by companies with Owner Operator/Independent Contractor exposures. Chris’ programs assist the motor carrier to recruit and retain new drivers while also protecting the assets of the owner operator and carrier. His day to day focus on this unique segment allow him to take a proactive approach to managing accounts.

Chris’ insurance career began at New York Life in 1993. In 1996 he began his 13 year sales career with AIG. He custom designed Owner Operator programs for hundreds of motor carriers nationwide and was consistently ranked as one of AIG’s top three new business sales personnel in the United States and Canada. During his time at AIG he generated $30M of new business sales. He was often called upon to educate brokers on how to expand their product offerings and to help them understand how to use various products to provide a buffer to more “traditional” lines of coverage. In 2009, Chris left AIG and began working at KCI Insurance Agency, Inc. as Vice President -Independent Contractor Division. He specialized in providing Risk Management and Insurance Brokerage Services primarily to Trucking Industry Owner Operators. He managed over 4,000 owner operators and grew his book of business by 259%.

Personal: Off the clock, Chris enjoys many outdoor activities with his family. Depending on the season you can find him and his family fishing on the beach, hunting with their Labrador Retriever and Brittany Spaniel, surfing, skiing, and mountain biking. The recent purchase of his childhood home has rekindled his passion for motor sports with his two boys and taking care of horses with his wife and daughter.

Shirley Braun – Controller

Professional Experience:  Shirley started with Encompass in April 2013 bringing with her six years of insurance accounting experience.  Her goal is to help the growth of Encompass by ensuring strict controls on cash flow, report to the executive team the status of budgetary conditions and assist the account managers with mastering the agency management system.  After 30 years in the retail business Shirley started her insurance career at a small    P & C agency as the bookkeeper.  She became P&C licensed in 2008 in order to fully understand the insurance business enabling her to service clients’ needs beyond matters of billing and finance.  She now looks forward to bringing her experience and knowledge to her new position and becoming a valued member of a great team with a bright future.

Personal:  Shirley is happily married to the Best Man (in the world) and enjoys traveling, reading and technology.  Her favorite vacation spot is the St. Lawrence River in the 1000 Islands.  Her love of being on the water is second only to spending time with her grandchildren that she cannot wait to introduce to her most favorite past-time, boating.

Amy Seitz – Account Manager

Professional Experience: Amy joined Encompass in July 2012 as an account assistant. Her primary focus is assisting with the administration of Encompass’ group insurance programs: PETRO Trust and Elite Transportation Risk Retention Group. Her insurance career began in 1998 with E.K. McConkey & Company, Inc.  She worked in the Commercial Lines and Contract Bonds department. She currently holds the Certified Insurance Services Representative (CISR) designation.

Personal: Amy is married with three daughters. She devotes most of her time caring for their children and being involved in their extracurricular activities. Amy routinely volunteers at their schools and helping her husband coach their softball team. In her free time, she enjoys running and exercising. She completed her first Half-Marathon in September 2012. She and her family are also members of Living Word Community Church.

Shirley Ravenscraft – Account Manager

Professional Experience: Shirley joined Encompass in July 2012 as an Account Manager. Her primary responsibilities include administering the group insurance programs; PETRO Trust and Elite Transportation Risk Retention Group (ETRRG). Shirley’s insurance career began in 1994 as an account assistant at Engle-Hambright & Davies.  In 2000, when Engle-Hambright & Davies was awarded the administration contract for the PETRO Trust, she began her service duties for the groups.  Shirley was also instrumental in the formation of ETRRG in 2005.  Shirley currently holds her CIC and CISR designations.

Personal: Shirley is an avid runner and enjoys competitive work outs.  She has competed in several running events and finished her first Half Marathon in March, 2012.  Shirley is a member of Gruver Fitness, a year round outdoor boot camp, focused on anaerobic cross training 3 days a week. She and her husband, Harvey, recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary.  They have two daughters,  and a Bichon Freese named Abby.  As a member of Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene, Shirley has served on the Drama Ministries team, Encouragement Committee, Choir, and is currently a money counter.

Rose Grello – Account Manager

Professional Experience: Rose began her professional career wanting to be just like her sister, a secretary for an insurance company.  This is where Rose was introduced into the insurance business.  Three years later, she was hired as an Executive Secretary to the President and Chairman for an insurance agency in Philadelphia, PA.  Rose was encouraged to take insurance and computer courses from a local college for career advancement.  After one year, she received not only her college credits, but her Property & Casualty License as well.  It did not take long before Rose was handling various account management duties for clients.  She would proudly become a Vice President of the agency.  Rose would then accept a position with a New Jersey insurance agency focused on transportation. During her 19 year tenure in NJ, Rose would become the Office Manager and an Account Manager Supervisor.

Kim Parker – Claims Manager

Professional Experience: Kim joined ERS as our Claims Manager in September 2015, and works in the Warminster office. She has over 15 years of commercial claims experience, is P&C licensed, and holds ARM & AIS designations. Kim has a track record of claims advocacy, claim negotiations, coverage disputes, and settlements. She has completed telephonic and in person claim reviews, assisted producers in preparing claim data for presentations, and has lead group claim seminars. Kim also has 7 years’ experience as a Commercial Lines Account Representative. She was proud to serve in the U.S. Air Force, and Pennsylvania Air National Guard. In her spare time, Kim enjoys cruising with her husband on both motorcycles and cruise ships.

John F. Dever – Vice President

Professional Experience: John started with Encompass in December 2013.  Prior to joining ERS John was the VP of RFO Insurance Services.  He began his career with Pennsylvania National Insurance Company as a claims adjuster.  He thoroughly enjoyed solving problems and working with his trucking clients so he moved over to the commercial transportation industry.  John was the Risk Manager for The Jones Motor Group from 1990 to 1994.  He left JMG to be the Director of Risk Management for USF Logistics, Inc. where he managed the Risk and HR departments from 1994 to 2000.  John is tasked with business development for ERS.  His expertise and experience in insurance, risk management, logistics, and transportation serves him well in developing risk management programs for the distribution industry.

Personal: John and Mary Beth Dever have been married for over 25 years.  Their three children, Patrick, Colleen, and Sean have been the focus of their love and attention for the past 23 years. John coached all three of his children in various youth sports (lacrosse, football, and soccer).  John and Mary Beth enjoy golfing and hiking with their two dogs in the North Georgia Mountains.  The Devers are extremely active in charitable organizations such as CURE and Rally for Life.

Professional Experience: Matt joined Encompass in 2014 as our Director of Sales & Marketing.  Prior to his involvement in the insurance industry, Matt had a career in various facets of transportation and international logistics.   Matt worked for several large transportation companies including Purolator, Livingston International, and Geodis Wilson.  Eventually these experiences translated into a career in risk management & insurance.  Matt would later spend several years as a Business Strategist at Marsh & McLennan Agency, where he specialized in large commercial risks.  Matt has experience working with clients of all sizes and is proficient with alternative risk funding strategies.  Matt holds the designation of CWCU (Certified Workers’ Compensation Underwriter) and is working toward receiving his ARM designation in 2015.

Donna Wahl  – Account Executive

Professional Experience: Donna joined Encompass full time in January 2014, after being an integral ‘behind the scenes’ team member since 2012. Donna has over 20 years of experience and her expertise involves complicated coverage matters, contractual requirements, and identifying gaps in coverage. Even though owner operator fleets make up the majority of her client base, Donna is seamless in capital based and large entities. As an Account Executive, Donna handles account management duties as well as a production role. Her voice is pivotal in process improvement and service efficiency. Donnas has a Masters in Risk Management from Temple University, and holds an ARM designation.

Tisha O’Donnell – Account Manager

Professional Experience: Tisha joined Encompass in January 2015. She has over 13 years of commercial property and casualty experience. Tisha is well versed in programs, captives, and risk purchasing groups. As an Account Manager, Tisha is involved in every type of client base Encompass has.
